Hi, I am Ashley! I am a queer femme astrologer, tarot reader, and reiki practitioner. I have an Aries Sun and a Gemini Moon. I have a strong Mercury, which is part of my interest in liminal spaces. I also have a PhD in Women and Gender Studies.
I live in the unceded ancestral lands of the Duwamish people.
I consider myself a feminist killjoy. My cosmic practices and offerings have a point of view – I believe that healing practices do not happen outside of our social and political environment. I think that anyone practicing healing modalities should take this into account. I believe that citation is crucial to any work.
I have been studying astrology seriously for several years and have been entrenched in the language and wonder of astrology and tarot since I was a child. I got my first tarot deck at age 16 and have been working with this symbolism ever since. I grew up in a Mexican and Irish Catholic family, where religion at times felt like a magical practice.
Many of us find ourselves in what is not spoken, not acknowledged, what is marginalized, or hidden from view – the liminal spaces. We might also find healing in alternate ways of knowing – this is certainly my experience! In my practice, I work with individuals (you!) from the understanding that we need to take the larger political, social, cultural, and cosmic contexts into account to have a more nuanced and holistic picture of what is happening to us at any given time.
